摘要
Some iron chelators can suppress bone marrow and may interfere with engraftment and hematologic recovery after gene therapy conditioning. Chelation around the time of myeloablation and infusion is therefore restricted.
用白話說明這項交互作用的意義
Betibeglogene autotemcel and Deferoxamine can interact in a way that may be serious. Using them together is sometimes necessary, but it needs a deliberate decision by the prescriber, a plan for monitoring, and clear advice on the warning signs to watch for.
為什麼會發生
Potential additive myelosuppressive or marrow-impairing effects of chelators could compromise engraftment; deferoxamine itself is less myelosuppressive than some chelators, so the mechanism is not firmly established.
處置方式
Stop iron chelation at least 7 days before conditioning, and avoid myelosuppressive chelators for about 6 months after infusion. Use phlebotomy or a non-myelosuppressive chelator if iron reduction is needed.
可向藥師詢問的問題

- Do I need any blood test, ECG or other check while on both?
