摘要
Live zoster vaccine contains replicating varicella-zoster virus, which may cause disseminated disease in patients on immunosuppressive doses of dexamethasone. The immune response to the vaccine may also be reduced.

Dexamethasone and Zoster vaccine live are not normally used together. Taking them at the same time is expected to cause harm or make one of them unsafe, so a different medicine is usually chosen for one of the two.

Glucocorticoid-induced suppression of cell-mediated immunity allows replication of the attenuated virus.
處置方式
Do not give live zoster vaccine during high-dose corticosteroid therapy; wait at least 1 month after stopping. Use the recombinant non-live zoster vaccine where available.
