Summary

Tricyclic antidepressants may potentiate the cardiovascular effects of long-acting beta-2 agonists and prolong QTc, and amitriptyline also adds anticholinergic burden to glycopyrronium. This may cause arrhythmias, tachycardia, dry mouth and urinary retention.

What this interaction means in plain words

Amitriptyline and Indacaterol-glycopyrronium can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.

Evidence level: Moderate

Why it happens

Additive QT prolongation, enhanced adrenergic cardiovascular effects and additive antimuscarinic activity.
