What this interaction means in plain words

Brexpiprazole and Erythromycin can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.

Brexpiprazole belongs to Central Nervous System; Erythromycin belongs to Anti Bacterial.

Evidence level: Moderate

Why it happens

Inhibition of CYP3A4-mediated brexpiprazole metabolism.

What to do

Reduce the brexpiprazole dose to about half with a moderate CYP3A4 inhibitor, and to a quarter if a CYP2D6 inhibitor is also used; monitor for adverse effects.
