dapagliflozin + sacubitril/valsartan
For healthcare professionals — reference only. This page is a brief summary, not medical advice and not a substitute for official labeling or clinical judgement. Always verify before prescribing or dispensing.
Overview
Additive BP-lowering and diuretic effects may increase risk of volume depletion, hypotension, and transient renal function changes.
Mechanism of action
Neprilysin inhibition/ARB-mediated vasodilation plus SGLT2-induced osmotic diuresis → reduced intravascular volume and BP; RAAS blockade may accentuate prerenal azotemia.
Clinical management
Assess/correct volume depletion before starting; monitor BP, renal function, and electrolytes after initiation/titration; consider reducing loop diuretic dose; counsel on hydration and sick-day rules.
