What this interaction means in plain words
Enalapril-hydrochlorothiazide and Tolfenamic acid can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.
Enalapril-hydrochlorothiazide belongs to Cardiovascular; Tolfenamic acid belongs to Musculoskeletal.
Why it happens
Inhibition of renal prostaglandin synthesis causes sodium retention and reduces renal perfusion, blunting antihypertensive effect and promoting kidney injury.
What to do
Avoid prolonged NSAID use where possible and ensure adequate hydration. Monitor blood pressure, creatinine and potassium.
