Summary
Lisocabtagene maraleucel is a CD19-directed CAR T-cell product given after lymphodepleting chemotherapy and carries risks of prolonged cytopenia, hypogammaglobulinemia and serious infection. Concurrent vedolizumab may add modestly to infection risk, although its gut-selective action limits systemic effects.
What this interaction means in plain words
Lisocabtagene maraleucel and Vedolizumab can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.
Lisocabtagene maraleucel belongs to Oncology; Vedolizumab belongs to Gastrointestinal Tract.
Why it happens
Additive immunomodulation between gut-selective integrin blockade and CAR T-related immune suppression; largely theoretical.
What to do
Reassess whether vedolizumab is needed around lymphodepletion and CAR T infusion and consider holding it until hematologic recovery. Monitor for infection and cytopenias.
