Summary
Losartan is converted to its active metabolite E-3174 by CYP2C9 and CYP3A4, both of which miconazole can inhibit. Reduced activation could slightly weaken the antihypertensive effect. With vaginal use the clinical impact is probably small.
What this interaction means in plain words
Losartan and Miconazole have a small, usually unimportant interaction. Most people can take both; the pharmacist may still mention it so that any unexpected effect is recognised.
Losartan belongs to Cardiovascular; Miconazole belongs to Anti Fungals.
Why it happens
Miconazole inhibits CYP2C9 and CYP3A4, which may reduce conversion of losartan to E-3174.
What to do
No empirical change is needed. Check blood pressure if miconazole is used for a prolonged period and adjust losartan if control worsens.
