Perphenazine has modest anticholinergic activity and causes sedation, so scopolamine can add to dry mouth, constipation, urinary retention, blurred vision and confusion. Antimuscarinic agents are sometimes given on purpose to treat antipsychotic-induced extrapyramidal symptoms, but excessive anticholinergic load can still develop.
