Résumé

Conjugated estrogens and bazedoxifene both raise the risk of venous thromboembolism, which is exactly what dalteparin is given to prevent or treat. The prothrombotic estrogen effect may undermine anticoagulation, and the combination is generally inappropriate in active or prior VTE.

Ce que signifie cette interaction, en termes simples

Bazedoxifene-conjugated estrogens and Dalteparin can interact in a way that may be serious. Using them together is sometimes necessary, but it needs a deliberate decision by the prescriber, a plan for monitoring, and clear advice on the warning signs to watch for.

Bazedoxifene-conjugated estrogens belongs to Endocrine; Dalteparin belongs to Cardiovascular.

Niveau de preuve: Low

Pourquoi elle survient

Estrogen and SERM-related prothrombotic changes (increased clotting factors, reduced antithrombin) counteract anticoagulant effect

Conduite à tenir

Avoid the estrogen/bazedoxifene combination in patients needing therapeutic anticoagulation for VTE; if prophylactic anticoagulation overlaps, reassess the need for hormone therapy.
