Nonsteroidal antiandrogen, competitively binds androgen receptors and inhibits testosterone stimulation of cell growth in prostate cancer

250 mg PO q8hr Take in combination with gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH/LHRH) analogs

- Unsafe Anti-androgen for prostate cancer; not for use in pregnancy. In animals it feminised male fetuses and lowered offspring survival. If used off-label in women (e.g. hirsutism), exclude pregnancy and use effective contraception.

- Unknown Not indicated for women; no data on passage into milk. Anti-androgen effects on a male infant and liver toxicity are possible, so avoid while breastfeeding.
