摘要
Amphetamines with an MAO inhibitor risk hypertensive crisis and serotonin syndrome. Safinamide labeling contraindicates concomitant use with sympathomimetic stimulants.

Amphetamine polistirex and Safinamide are not normally used together. Taking them at the same time is expected to cause harm or make one of them unsafe, so a different medicine is usually chosen for one of the two.

Amphetamine releases monoamines and inhibits their reuptake while MAO-B inhibition lessens their metabolism, causing additive effects.

Do not co-administer; use a non-stimulant treatment when safinamide is needed. Observe a washout interval after stopping either drug.
