摘要
Transdermal selegiline at antidepressant doses inhibits MAO-A and MAO-B nonselectively, and levodopa raises catecholamine levels. Together they can cause severe hypertensive reactions.

Carbidopa-entacapone-levodopa and Selegiline transdermal are not normally used together. Taking them at the same time is expected to cause harm or make one of them unsafe, so a different medicine is usually chosen for one of the two.

Nonselective MAO inhibition prevents breakdown of dopamine and norepinephrine formed from levodopa, causing excessive pressor effects.

Do not combine; choose a different antidepressant in patients on levodopa. Allow an appropriate washout when switching.
