摘要
Isocarboxazid irreversibly inhibits monoamine oxidase, so serotonin is not broken down, and maprotiline is a tetracyclic antidepressant that blocks noradrenaline reuptake. Together they can precipitate serotonin syndrome with hyperthermia, agitation, clonus and autonomic instability, which can be fatal.
