Summary

Flibanserin acts on serotonin receptors and aripiprazole is a partial agonist at dopamine and serotonin receptors. Additive CNS depression, sedation and hypotension may occur, and serotonergic or neuroleptic malignant syndrome features are theoretically possible. Aripiprazole is metabolized by CYP3A4 and CYP2D6, and flibanserin is a weak CYP3A4 inhibitor.

Aripiprazole belongs to Central Nervous System; Flibanserin belongs to Genitourinary.

Evidence level: Low

Why it happens
