Summary
Dacomitinib strongly inhibits CYP2D6 and could raise exposure to CYP2D6 substrates. Captopril is only partly metabolized by CYP2D6 and has a wide therapeutic margin, so a meaningful clinical effect is not expected.
What this interaction means in plain words
Captopril-hydrochlorothiazide and Dacomitinib have a small, usually unimportant interaction. Most people can take both; the pharmacist may still mention it so that any unexpected effect is recognised.
Captopril-hydrochlorothiazide belongs to Cardiovascular; Dacomitinib belongs to Oncology.
Why it happens
CYP2D6 inhibition by dacomitinib may modestly reduce captopril metabolism.
