For healthcare professionals — reference only. This page is a brief summary, not medical advice and not a substitute for official labeling or clinical judgement. Always verify before prescribing or dispensing.

Summary

Eprosartan has no clinically important pharmacokinetic effect on digoxin, and digoxin does not meaningfully raise serum potassium. Digoxin toxicity is potentiated by potassium disturbances and renal impairment, which can occur with ARBs, so electrolytes and renal function matter.

What this interaction means in plain words

Digoxin and Eprosartan have a small, usually unimportant interaction. Most people can take both; the pharmacist may still mention it so that any unexpected effect is recognised.

Digoxin belongs to Cardiovascular; Eprosartan belongs to Cardiovascular.

Evidence level: Low

Why it happens

No direct interaction established; ARB-related changes in potassium or renal function may indirectly alter digoxin sensitivity or clearance.

What to do

Monitor serum potassium, renal function and digoxin levels or toxicity signs when starting or changing the ARB.

What to ask your pharmacist
