What this interaction means in plain words
Ethacrynic acid and Formoterol-mometasone can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.
Ethacrynic acid belongs to Cardiovascular; Formoterol-mometasone belongs to Respiratory.
Why it happens
Additive hypokalemia from loop diuretic potassium wasting, beta-2 mediated intracellular potassium shift and mineralocorticoid activity of corticosteroids.
What to do
Monitor serum potassium and magnesium periodically, particularly at the start of therapy or with high doses. Replace potassium as needed.
