What this interaction means in plain words

Fluconazole and Telavancin can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.

Fluconazole belongs to Anti Fungals; Telavancin belongs to Anti Bacterial.

Evidence level: Moderate

Why it happens

Additive prolongation of ventricular repolarization, with fluconazole blocking cardiac potassium channels.

What to do

Check a baseline ECG and monitor QTc and electrolytes during co-therapy. Correct hypokalemia and hypomagnesemia, and choose an alternative if QTc becomes markedly prolonged.
