Summary

Trastuzumab has no major immunosuppressive effect alone, but it can increase neutropenia when given with myelosuppressive chemotherapy. Any additive infection risk with infliximab is mostly theoretical and depends on concurrent chemotherapy and disease state.

What this interaction means in plain words

Infliximab and Trastuzumab have a small, usually unimportant interaction. Most people can take both; the pharmacist may still mention it so that any unexpected effect is recognised.

Infliximab belongs to Musculoskeletal; Trastuzumab belongs to Oncology.

Evidence level: Low

Why it happens

No established direct interaction; any added infection risk is from TNF blockade combined with possible neutropenia.

What to do

Monitor neutrophil counts and signs of infection, particularly when chemotherapy is also given. No dose change is needed routinely.
