What this interaction means in plain words

Ipratropium-salbutamol and Moxifloxacin can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.

Ipratropium-salbutamol belongs to Respiratory; Moxifloxacin belongs to Anti Bacterial.

Evidence level: Moderate

Why it happens

Additive QT prolongation, with beta-2 agonist-induced hypokalemia as a contributing factor.

What to do

Check potassium and magnesium and consider an ECG in patients with cardiac disease or other QT-prolonging drugs. Choose a non-QT-prolonging antibiotic if the patient is high risk.
