What this interaction means in plain words
Meloxicam and Methylprednisolone can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.
Meloxicam belongs to Musculoskeletal; Methylprednisolone belongs to Endocrine.
Why it happens
Additive gastrointestinal mucosal injury: NSAID-related prostaglandin inhibition combined with corticosteroid impairment of mucosal healing.
What to do
Use the lowest effective doses for the shortest time, and consider a proton pump inhibitor in older or high-risk patients. Monitor for gastrointestinal bleeding.
