What this interaction means in plain words
Methylphenidate and Nimodipine have a small, usually unimportant interaction. Most people can take both; the pharmacist may still mention it so that any unexpected effect is recognised.
Methylphenidate belongs to Central Nervous System; Nimodipine belongs to Cardiovascular.
Why it happens
Pharmacodynamic antagonism: sympathomimetic pressor effect of methylphenidate opposes calcium channel blocker vasodilation.
