For healthcare professionals — reference only. This page is a brief summary, not medical advice and not a substitute for official labeling or clinical judgement. Always verify before prescribing or dispensing.

Summary

Pomalidomide is a P-glycoprotein substrate and is also metabolized partly by CYP3A4. Verapamil inhibits both pathways, but labeling reports no clinically important effect of P-gp inhibition on pomalidomide exposure, so a meaningful change is unlikely.

What this interaction means in plain words

Pomalidomide and Verapamil have a small, usually unimportant interaction. Most people can take both; the pharmacist may still mention it so that any unexpected effect is recognised.

Pomalidomide belongs to Miscellaneous; Verapamil belongs to Cardiovascular.

Evidence level: Low

Why it happens

Verapamil inhibits P-gp and CYP3A4, which could modestly raise pomalidomide levels.

What to do

No dose change is needed. Monitor for the usual pomalidomide adverse effects such as neutropenia and fatigue.
