Summary

What this interaction means in plain words

Procarbazine and Tramadol are not normally used together. Taking them at the same time is expected to cause harm or make one of them unsafe, so a different medicine is usually chosen for one of the two.

Procarbazine belongs to Oncology; Tramadol belongs to Musculoskeletal.

Evidence level: Moderate

Why it happens

MAO inhibition combined with tramadol's monoamine reuptake inhibition.

What to do

Avoid use during and within 14 days of MAOI therapy. Use an alternative analgesic.
