Summary
Regorafenib can inhibit the efflux transporter BCRP, which limits intestinal absorption of rosuvastatin. Systemic rosuvastatin exposure may rise, increasing the chance of muscle toxicity such as myalgia or myopathy.
What this interaction means in plain words
Regorafenib and Rosuvastatin can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.
Regorafenib belongs to Oncology; Rosuvastatin belongs to Cardiovascular.
Why it happens
Regorafenib inhibits BCRP (ABCG2), reducing efflux of rosuvastatin and raising its systemic exposure.
What to do
Monitor for muscle pain, weakness and CK elevation during combined therapy. Consider using a lower rosuvastatin dose if symptoms develop.
