概要
Carbamazepine strongly induces CYP3A4 and can markedly lower isavuconazole concentrations. This may lead to subtherapeutic antifungal exposure and treatment failure in invasive mold infections.

Carbamazepine and Isavuconazole are not normally used together. Taking them at the same time is expected to cause harm or make one of them unsafe, so a different medicine is usually chosen for one of the two.
Carbamazepine belongs to Central Nervous System; Isavuconazole belongs to Anti Fungals.
なぜ起こるのか
Induction of CYP3A4/5 (and possibly other pathways) by carbamazepine increases isavuconazole clearance.

Do not coadminister; choose an alternative anticonvulsant or antifungal. If unavoidable, use therapeutic drug monitoring and expert advice.
