概要
Both drugs are vasoconstrictors acting on serotonin receptors, and together they can cause prolonged vasospasm. Cases of peripheral and cerebral ischemia are described with triptan-ergot combinations.

Dihydroergotamine and Frovatriptan are not normally used together. Taking them at the same time is expected to cause harm or make one of them unsafe, so a different medicine is usually chosen for one of the two.
