用途
作用方式
Bisphosphonate binds to hydroxyapatite crystals in bone and inhibits osteoclast-mediated bone resorption. Decreases mineral release and collagen or matrix breakdown in bone.

Paget Disease (Initial): 5-10 mg/kg PO qDay not to exceed 6 months OR 11-20 mg/kg PO qDay not to exceed 3 months

- Unsafe Not for use in pregnancy. Bisphosphonates stay in bone for years and may affect fetal bone and calcium; animal studies showed skeletal effects, but limited human data show no clear defect pattern.

- Unknown No milk data. Very poor oral absorption suggests little infant exposure, but labels do not recommend use while breastfeeding. LactMed: an alternative may be preferred, especially for a newborn or preterm infant.
