摘要

Isocarboxazid irreversibly blocks MAO-A and MAO-B, and fentanyl is a serotonergic opioid. Serotonin syndrome or an excitatory/depressive MAOI-opioid reaction (hypertension or profound respiratory depression) may result.

Fentanyl and Isocarboxazid are not normally used together. Taking them at the same time is expected to cause harm or make one of them unsafe, so a different medicine is usually chosen for one of the two.
