摘要
Bowel-preparation solutions can cause dehydration and electrolyte shifts. Zoledronic acid lowers serum calcium and is nephrotoxic in volume-depleted patients, so combined exposure may add to the risk of hypocalcemia, arrhythmia, seizures and renal impairment.
用白話說明這項交互作用的意義
Sodium sulfate / ?magnesium sulfate / potassium chloride and Zoledronic acid can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.
為什麼會發生
Additive effects on fluid and electrolyte balance and renal function (pharmacodynamic).
處置方式
Ensure adequate hydration and correct baseline calcium and electrolyte abnormalities before bowel preparation. Check electrolytes and renal function in high-risk patients, and avoid infusing zoledronic acid during bowel preparation.
