What this interaction means in plain words
Ipratropium-salbutamol and Trimipramine can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.
Ipratropium-salbutamol belongs to Respiratory; Trimipramine belongs to Central Nervous System.
Why it happens
Tricyclic inhibition of noradrenaline reuptake together with beta-2 agonist stimulation gives additive adrenergic and arrhythmogenic effects.
What to do
Monitor heart rate, blood pressure and ECG in patients with cardiac disease, and keep salbutamol at the lowest effective dose. Watch for urinary retention or dry mouth from additive anticholinergic effects.
