Résumé
Glucarpidase hydrolyzes folates and antifolates such as methotrexate, and can degrade folic acid and related folate compounds like leucovorin. Folate rescue given around glucarpidase may therefore be less effective.
Ce que signifie cette interaction, en termes simples
Folic acid and Glucarpidase can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.
Folic acid belongs to Miscellaneous; Glucarpidase belongs to Miscellaneous.
Pourquoi elle survient
Glucarpidase is a carboxypeptidase that cleaves the terminal glutamate residue from folates, inactivating them.
Conduite à tenir
Do not give leucovorin within 2 hours before or after glucarpidase, since it is a substrate, and continue folate rescue as directed by the protocol afterward.
