摘要
MAO inhibitors combined with methylphenidate-type stimulants can provoke severe hypertensive crisis. Labeling contraindicates dexmethylphenidate during MAOI therapy and for 14 days afterward.

Dexmethylphenidate and Selegiline are not normally used together. Taking them at the same time is expected to cause harm or make one of them unsafe, so a different medicine is usually chosen for one of the two.

The stimulant releases catecholamines, and MAO inhibition prevents their degradation, so they accumulate.
