Summary
Nevirapine may modestly reduce ambrisentan exposure. Ambrisentan is cleared by glucuronidation and partly by CYP3A4 and 2C19, and strong inducers like rifampicin cause only small changes, so a major effect is unlikely.
What this interaction means in plain words
Ambrisentan and Nevirapine have a small, usually unimportant interaction. Most people can take both; the pharmacist may still mention it so that any unexpected effect is recognised.
Ambrisentan belongs to Miscellaneous; Nevirapine belongs to Anti Virals.
Why it happens
Nevirapine induces CYP3A4 and possibly UGT enzymes, slightly increasing ambrisentan clearance.
What to do
No dose adjustment is required. Monitor symptoms of pulmonary hypertension and functional status.
