What this interaction means in plain words
Labetalol and Sevoflurane can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.
Labetalol belongs to Cardiovascular; Sevoflurane belongs to Central Nervous System.
Why it happens
Additive vasodilation and cardiac depression combined with beta- and alpha-adrenergic blockade.
What to do
Tell the anesthesia team about beta-blocker use and monitor blood pressure and heart rate closely, lowering anesthetic concentration as needed. Treat hypotension with fluids or vasopressors.
