What this interaction means in plain words
Moxifloxacin and Risperidone can interact in a way that may be serious. Using them together is sometimes necessary, but it needs a deliberate decision by the prescriber, a plan for monitoring, and clear advice on the warning signs to watch for.

Why it happens
Additive IKr (hERG) channel inhibition causing delayed cardiac repolarization.
What to do
Choose a non-QT-prolonging antibiotic when possible. If used together, check a baseline ECG, correct electrolytes and monitor for QTc lengthening or arrhythmia symptoms.
