Resumo
Isocarboxazid (an irreversible non-selective MAO inhibitor) slows catecholamine breakdown, while bupropion blocks reuptake of dopamine and noradrenaline. The combination can produce hypertensive crisis, agitation and seizures; labelling for bupropion prohibits concurrent MAOI therapy.
O que esta interação significa em palavras simples
Bupropion and Isocarboxazid are not normally used together. Taking them at the same time is expected to cause harm or make one of them unsafe, so a different medicine is usually chosen for one of the two.

Por que acontece
MAO inhibition combined with dopamine and noradrenaline reuptake inhibition causes excess catecholamine activity
O que fazer
