Summary

Talquetamab causes cytokine release syndrome, which can transiently suppress CYP enzymes. Riluzole is metabolized by CYP1A2, so exposure may increase, mainly during step-up dosing and around cytokine release events.

What this interaction means in plain words

Riluzole and Talquetamab can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.

Riluzole belongs to Miscellaneous; Talquetamab belongs to Oncology.

Evidence level: Low

Why it happens

Cytokine release suppresses CYP1A2 activity, decreasing riluzole metabolism.

What to do

Monitor for riluzole adverse effects and liver tests during talquetamab step-up and for about two weeks after the first treatment dose. Reduce or hold riluzole if toxicity emerges.

What to ask your pharmacist
