作用のしくみ
Anticholinergic/antispasmodic; no effect on acid secretion, but direct smooth muscle relaxant effects; blocks the action of ACh at parasympathetic sites in smooth muscle, secretory glands, and CNS.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome: 10-20 mg IM q6hr; not to exceed 80 mg/day IM

- Safe Studies of 1st-trimester use at up to 40 mg/day (as in older morning-sickness products) showed no rise in malformations; data at higher IBS doses are lacking. Can be used if needed.

- Unsafe Passes into milk; a possible case of apnoea in a breastfed infant was reported, like reactions in infants given it directly (contraindicated under 6 months). US label and LactMed: do not use while breastfeeding.

- Serious respiratory reactions, CNS symptoms, and deaths reported following administration to infants.
- Contraindicated in Patients with Closed-angle glaucoma, GI obstruction, Severe ulcerative colitis, Reflux esophagitis, bladder obstruction, or Infants aged <6 months.
- Caution in benign prostatic hyperplasia, and Heat prostration can occur (fever and heat stroke due to decreased sweating).
