Summary
Levoketoconazole strongly inhibits CYP3A4 and is expected to markedly increase avanafil concentrations. Severe hypotension, syncope, visual disturbances and priapism may occur.
What this interaction means in plain words
Avanafil and Levoketoconazole are not normally used together. Taking them at the same time is expected to cause harm or make one of them unsafe, so a different medicine is usually chosen for one of the two.
Avanafil belongs to Genitourinary; Levoketoconazole belongs to Endocrine.
Why it happens
Strong CYP3A4 inhibition reduces avanafil clearance.
What to do
Do not coadminister. Use a non-interacting treatment for erectile dysfunction during levoketoconazole therapy.
