Résumé

Safinamide is a MAO-B inhibitor and dexmethylphenidate is a CNS stimulant that raises synaptic dopamine and norepinephrine. Combining them can precipitate a hypertensive crisis and hyperadrenergic or serotonergic toxicity. The labeling of both classes advises against concurrent use.

Dexmethylphenidate and Safinamide are not normally used together. Taking them at the same time is expected to cause harm or make one of them unsafe, so a different medicine is usually chosen for one of the two.
